From Starbenders to The Struts and Måneskin, gorgeous rock is back, with its stacked heels, stomping, and sparkling splendor

Since the early 1970s, the reign of gorgeous rock may have only lasted for five years, but its influence has been lasting. Marc Bolan’s appearance in Top Of The Pops in 1971 can be said to be a gorgeous starting point, but David Bowie—especially his other alien self, Ziggy Stardust—is just as important as Sweet, Mud, Slade, Roxy Music, and Mott The Hoople and other bands together.

This genre is not only fun, but also allows young people to resist conservative ideas and reject universal gender norms. This rebellion often wears exuberant, feminine wardrobes made up of platform boots, tights, cosmetics and sequins.

Although gorgeous rock in its original form may now be just a distant echo, these bands have brought the noise back to a short and often overlooked moment in the history of music and breathed new life into them.

Atlanta's Starbenders appeared on the scene in 2014 as a cloud of glitter and hairspray, which is the highly flammable answer to the fading flame of gorgeous rock. Although their peacock-like attire may be the most obvious sign of their gorgeous rock tendencies, their connection to the genre is much deeper than stilt boots and shag hairstyles in the 70s style.

Under the leadership of Kimi Shelter, he is easily considered the beloved son of Siouxsie Sioux and David Bowie. Starbenders is reminiscent of a cosmic rebellious punk (such as in their 2016 debut album Heavy Petting), melody Popular and sparkling new charm. Their second album, Love Potions in 2020, witnessed their ability to morph their voices to new heights, while at the same time displaying a lot of refreshing long songs and vague improvisations throughout the process.

New York-based psychological rock singer Uni has not released an album yet, but their fascinating singles and mind-changing videos prove their sensitivity to gorgeous rock.

Claiming to be a mixture of cigarette butts, used condoms, melted vinyl, and many other annoying ingredients, Uni are three true weirdos who embody Ziggy Stardust's exterior with a darker dystopian twist. Star mystery. Uni is composed of planners and multi-instrumentalists Charlotte Kemp, Jack James and David Strange. It is a hot melting pot of sparkling sour psychedelic, gorgeous rock and futuristic electronic pop music.

Freddie Mercury is not a name you just talk about, but Struts lead singer Luke Spiller is closer to taking the throne than most. He has a voice, every pore exudes charm, and he is a natural boiling force on the stage. Just what you would expect from the charming hotbed of modern Derbyshire.

The Struts has teamed up with Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Robbie Williams, Kesha, Paris Jackson, Albert Hammond Jr and Tom Morello, demonstrating their clear understanding of the entertainment industry and their ability to connect with those who maintain credibility (for those who care Those who do these things) and those who may provide a quick path to cross-industry success.

Marked as part of the spiritual rock renaissance, Temples is the reincarnation of a group of dragging Marc Bolan. They blend the hazy psychedelic and laid-back pop rock and captivate the audience.

Their 2014 debut album, LP Sun Structures, paid homage to the power of flowers in the 1960s with slim guitar hooks, and the critically acclaimed Volcano in 2017 was a gorgeous dream place for shiny leather jackets and paisley shirts. Although the essence of gorgeousness is not at the forefront of Temples, Hot Motion in 2019 continues to consolidate its position as one of today's most infectious gorgeous rock performances.

Recognized by the King of Kitsch himself, Elton John released their debut album Do Hollywood in 2016. The lemon branch composed of Long Island brothers Bryan and Michael Daddario is no stranger when it comes to grand occasions.

The combination of their quirky baroque rock, pop-pop music and gorgeousness is reminiscent of Queen’s drama quirks, most notably Go To School in 2018, which is a concept album about the musical chimpanzee Shane, he is a human boy. Songs For The General Public in 2020 pays tribute to the unique liveliness of Supertramp and Alice Cooper with retro rotary synthesizers, rough melody and opera harmony performance.

Propelled by the vague baritone guitar improvisation and the roar of female lead singer Demi Demetro, the Colorado Velvet band is a time warp combination of The Runaways, Deap Vally and T.Rex. Their garage rock punk sound is fierce, but softened with a little flash and the dusty warmth of an old-fashioned amplifier, and they have supported Guns N'Roses.

Although the gorgeous punk bands led by these three young platforms have only a few singles and a complete LP (Nightmare Daydream in 2021), their voices feel good at the same time and are completely unique. Produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, their first performance was full of shining moments, including the flashing synthesizer in the title song and the Adam and ant-style drum sounds from Devil Radio.

Most modern gorgeous rock musicians have only borrowed some of the original features of the genre, while Giuda of Italy stepped directly on the gloomy grave of gorgeous rock and shook its decomposed corpse very well. The epitome of thrift store glamour and Boofver rock, Giuda is today's Boogie guitar thrust Mud-including carefully choreographed movements.

When Sweet walked onto the stage, it was like jumping from the back of a rusty time machine to the set of Top Of The Pops, Giuda took notes among the crowd. Yobbish chants, marching drums and demonic guitar improvisations, Giuda is undoubtedly an interesting imitation of the forgotten gorgeous rock corners, Joe Elliott loves them. "They frightened me," he said. "They made this totally out-of-date music popular again."

Lead singer Arrow de Wilde is known for appearing on stage wearing tights and then harassing audiences with fake blood capsules, which made Starcrawler notorious for his manic live performances. When you combine Alice Cooper's dramatic rock and roll with The Runaways' Cherri Currie's writhing, tight-fitting fiery sand, you get Wilde.

The fashionable lipsticks of the Los Angeles Quartet are tainted with the charm and filth of Hollywood Boulevard, based on attitude singing and heavy improvisations, as shown in their 2019 track Bet My Brains and 2021 Goodtime Girl.

If we were to pile up artists who would not have existed without David Bowie, this colorful gorgeous/indie rock singer might be one of them. Foxygen drummer Shaun Fleming performed under the alias of his other self, Diane Coffee, bringing mild psychedelic and energetic quirky pop music.

Following an early career in children's voice acting and drama, performing in the Jesus Christ superstar at the Chicago Opera in 2018, the taste for drama is naturally consistent in the writing of coffee. Coupled with his hermaphrodite and otherworldly appeal, he is likely to become a strong contender for the restart of "The Man Who Fell On Earth". if so.

Over the years, psychological rock heavyweight Tessiegel has covered countless sounds in dozens of projects, whether as a solo artist or as a member of multiple bands including Fuzz and Sic Alps. As a pioneer in psychological/garage rock, Segall embraces a wild and crude sound rooted in quirky acid charm.

Externally influenced by David Bowie and Marc Bolan-In 2015, he even released a cover album of his favorite T. Rex and Tyrannosaurus rex songs, titled Ty Rex-Segall with a soft and strong voice against the fuzzy, whimsical noise. In essence, it is a gorgeous rock on steroids.

Since winning the Eurovision title in 2021, these four gorgeous Italian revivalists have topped the global charts and even became the world's most viewed artists on Spotify with their single Beggin' (the original cover) Popular in "Four Seasons" in 1967).

Their recent singles "Mamma Mia", "I Want to Be Your Slave"-they re-released in collaboration with Iggy Pop-Zitti E Buoni and the aforementioned Beggin' are mainly composed of repeated riffy hooks, sultry people Composed of vocal and chorus. Admittedly, their visual beauty is their most obvious connection to the genre, but now is the time for rock and roll to bring back a bit of charm. Måneskin's lively wardrobe even makes them the new favorites of the fashion empire Gucci.
